This was a really quick, enjoyable read! The author's voice is delightfully snappy and the main character is witty AF, but without meaning to be, which is a fantastic combination.

If you want some deep treatise on feminism, this isn't quite it. Things will be wrapped up in a nice bow before you put the book down. So if you want something that has lots of payoff for the sad parts, that makes you think but doesn't leave you frustrated, or that makes you feel just a little bit better by the end - this book is absolutely for you.

The main characters are smart, but not annoyingly so. Side characters get the most development, which is not my preference but worked well enough here. All in all, it's a very cozy book and I thoroughly enjoyed my read!

I wanted to read this book bc it seemed to be a good story with a little bit of romance and some humor. There was no humor. Elizabeth Zott is an oh so serious character and has gone through a lot. Nothing in the book was funny, not even darkly funny. Calvin Evans was the best character
I wish they didn’t kill him off so early. His death was confusing I had to read it a few times…did he get shot or ran over?
. Her daughter Mad is the second best character. If she had a spin off book, I’d probably read it. Just with a little bit less of Elizabeth Zott. I just don’t like her as the main character. I really wish I could have gave it more stars but it’s hard to.

Most enthralling yet maddening and depressing book I have ever read. It taught me things abour science, reflected the real world to a disturbing level and was also fictional so I just wish multiple characters were real and could have actually had this effect on the world. Having 6:30 the dog narrate some parts was also a surprising highlight as I have never seen a book deploy this plot device before. I think this one will stick with me and now I want to experience it more I will just have to watch the show. There is a long list of trigger warnings though so reader's beware.
