Cute, cozy and charming!

I had a few issues with the pacing, particularly towards the end, but I enjoyed this quick little read.

Really cutesy Halloween setting, nice witchy vibes. I liked Viv and Rhys but they sure made things difficult for themselves and then wondered why things were so hard. If they would've thought through things and actually focused on the problem this would've been less frustrating read for me.

This was a nice palate cleanser after reading a few thrillers and mysteries back-to-back. I'm probably the last person to read this, but I remember seeing not great reviews when this first released, so I was hesitant.

While I wasn't a fan of the number of times Rhys felt aroused in Vivi's presence and eventually started rolling my eyes a lot, I still did really enjoy this. It's not the greatest romance story of all time, but if you're looking for a fun, easy romance read this spooky season, I recommend it.

" Her head spinning, but her heart not feeling quite so piece-y, Vivi smiled and leaned over the circle, closer to the candle. 'You broke my heart, Rhys Penhallow,' she said. 'And we curse you. You and your whole stupid, hot line.' "

What a lovely way to start my October reads! The vibes to this book were immaculate. Literally spooktastic. My witchy and Halloween feels were through the roof! Not only that but my little hopeless romantic heart was so so so happy.

Erin Sterling gets her readers prepared for the Halloween season with this spooky rom-com.  Witches rule the skies in this one. We first come across a broken-hearted protagonist, who wallows in tears . . . and vodka. Unfortunately for her she partakes in some dreadful activities, as one does when their heart is literally shattered in a million pumpkin pieces, and drunk, and may have accidentally cursed her oh so dangerously handsome ex. 9 years later, curse unknown to him, Rhys returns just in time for the ghoulish holiday. . . and some creepy crawly questioning things keep happening. Was this all a coincidence?  Or did someone not want him there? As Rhys's life abruptly involves itself with Vivienne's, the curse becomes more serious than talking cats, and toy skeleton heads coming to life. Serious as in . . . potentially all of Graves Glen becoming destroyed. However that is not the only serious thing that arises, feelings between the two. . . start to resurface. Will Vivienne and Rhys be able to put the past aside and focus on saving the town before Halloween, or will their wicked chemistry get in the way?

Erin Sterling did an excellent job in making my Halloween heart happy. I was entertained and squealing with excitement in each chapter. The whole book was just full of magic fun, and honestly, it gave me Hocus Pocus vibes. I loved each character and found that all their chemistry, some steamier than others, were *chefs kiss*.

Vivienne was such a sweet, sweet character. I am always so iffy with girl characters in rom-coms, because they are either green flag, or they are just all-around red flag. And when reading the summary of the book, I thought I was getting the latter. So I am pleasantly surprised and not disappointed. She was sweet, but not the timid type. She was bold when she needed to be, she was kind, and she was very understanding. I find it so annoying when there is no good communication. And I bless the mother of all witches, I was not faced with that problem.

Rhys. Why do all sexy men have this name? What a witty witty man. His lines made me laugh. Made me giggle, made me blush. Like come on . . . his vocabulary consisted of "gorgeous", "love", "darling", etc. Like OH MY LANTA. Take my soul already! Also what a gentleman! He knows how to treat a woman. I loved that he was just this snarky, but also soft witch boy.

The four stars . . . is for the pacing of the story. I felt like it was rushed. And there wasn't a very good balance between the romance part and the trying to break the curse part. Which I think added to the rush-ness of it.

Other than that, I think it was such a fun read, especially during this Halloween season. It was nice to read something that I didn't really put my whole attention to. I could just read and enjoy.
