Audio Review

Perfect audio is perfect.

Truly collaborative in bringing to life Klune's genius, Michael Lesley gives every single character their own unique presence!

Needless to say, Lesley delivers yet again with fabulous comedic timing and heartfelt emotion. Peppered with embellishments, instrumentals, and sound effects, all of which makes this production and the entire series (both written and audio), a one of a kind, amazingly epic tale!

Thank you to the author/publisher for the audio in exchange for an honest review

Original Review

Again, I’m going to keep this quick.

It comes as no surprise to me regarding the absolute genius of this series. It may be verbose and a tad redundant, but no one ties emotions and humor together like Klune, and the constant hits in this book never flagged.

As it seems per the usual when reading the typical Klune masterpiece, I laughed while crying and cried while laughing. All the characters here will forever be embedded in my brain, each with their distinct voices, each with their own unforgettable charm. Tiggy 5eva!!!

This never shorted the reader on the funny, the sexy, the gravitas, or the epic. It was one harrowing wild ride that built to quite the intense, worrisome, wonderful finale! I’m so happy I took a chance on [b:The Lightning-Struck Heart|24468673|The Lightning-Struck Heart (Tales From Verania, #1)|T.J. Klune|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1434402683s/24468673.jpg|44061547], and I obviously don’t regret one second of this amazing reading experience!

I often find myself thinking why didn't I discover these books years earlier, when they first came out?

But after finishing the Verania tetralogy, I'm glad I didn't read them earlier. Because it is 4 years (!) since A Wish Upon The Stars came out, 4 years between it and Justin's book, which is coming out in 3 months, so now my waiting time until my return to Verania will be just these 3 months !

This book is the conclusion that Sam's great prophecy deserved. It's epic and absurd and hilarious and surreal and emotional and heartfelt, much in line with the previous books.

Sam's inner battle is a more prevalent element of the book, the pressure he is under, the temptations, the potential, the weight of the world on his shoulders.

There's obviously a lot of Ryan (Note: if I have one complain, it's TJ Klune's weird "Ryan with beard" fetish, it made the hot/naughty scenes a bit less appealing to me in comparison with the first two books - my type is smooth and clean-cut!) and we see just how important a cornerstone is, how deep the trust between Ryan and Sam is, how sweet their love story is and of course how dashing and immaculate the Knight Commander remains !

Gary is...Gary. He has his horn back, he is almost too much as always ! Tiggy is always at his side, the half-giant with the few words and lots of smashing ! His somehwat mysterious past isn't explored furthermore here, so I guess it's a story for Justin's book or a 6th book.

Kevin and Justin almost stole the show. Justin has huge character growth and his whole "you're my best friend 5va but I pretend I hate you" relationship with Sam is becoming a favourite of mine. Kevin is once again the sex-minded dragon he is, with the many moments where he shows what the group means for him.

Zero going back to sleep was one of the saddest moments which made me tear. He was my favourite dragon of the other four, and I didn't want to see the last of him.

Verania is TJ Klune's underrated gem, and I'm glad I will return to it soon !

Great ending to a really fun series. I highly recommend the audio versions- the narration is absolutely the best and gives this story so much life and snarkiness! I will be listening to this series again:)

Once again Mr Klune has made me ball several times with this book as well. A lite wordy but the characters are just like that. Great series.

Loved this. Sam's journey to reluctant Chosen One completes in Book 4 of the Tales of Verania series. Dragons, an evil wizard, a gay unicorn, an insightful half-giant, and a (no longer apparatice) wizard who must resist tempting amounts of power and learn to forgive the people close to him who are working to be better.

I wasn't as much of a fan of this book as I was of the rest of the series. While it should have been a pretty exciting conclusion, it was difficult to get through because I was kind of bored reading through it. No matter though, I would still recommend reading this series because of how charming it is in general. While I was kind of disappointed by this book in particular, I'm glad I saw it through!
