This novel was truly incredible. I was expecting it to be a difficult read, and it was, but not in the way I was expecting. I loved the themes and the disorientating plot, I loved the interwoven aspects of African history, I loved how original it was. I found this book to be strangely relatable, even in its mania. As a black woman in my 20s, I read it just at the right time.

Wow, dieses Buch ist etwas besonderes. Es ist teilweise brutal, es ist aufwühlend, aber es ist richtig gut!
Ich habe eine Zeit gebraucht, um so richtig reinzukommen- das Buch ist definitiv nichts für Zwiscbendurch, denn es hallt nach. Es ist super intensiv! Und es ist definitiv nicht für jeden was. Ich habe auch gebraucht, um die Perspektivwechsel nachzuvollziehen (keine Ahnung, ob das am Hörbuch lag oder so gewollt ist), stellenweise war etwas etwas sehr langsam, nahm dann wieder ordentlich an Fahrt auf. Das Buch ist eine echte Achterbahnfahrt.
