So full of love and care that even the "happy" bits made me cry. I cried so many times reading this. Truly beautful and elegant writing. Ivan is such a great storyteller. I have learned so much about queerness and community from this book.

Kind of embarrassed that this less than 250 page book took me two months to read BUT it was actually great to read a few pages at a time. Got time to let each story simmer. I felt like I really got to know Ivan Coyote and their writing style. I've had an untouched copy of Rebent Sinner for years know and now that I know what they are like I will have to pick it up asap.

I love all of Ivan's books, but this is one of their best. The writing is beautiful as alw ys and the letter format speaks to me as a younger queer person who needs all the advice from the wise queer adult that Ivan is.
My mom also loves it and it made her want to read all the other books by this author. She used to be very ignorant about trans issues but now she understands a lot more. I think the way Ivan writes and also talks to people with prejudiced opinions can make people change their minds and reconsider their views.

big love to ivan always, jus found this one a lil repetitive, which makes sense seeing as it's a bunch of letters to different people. still excellent !!

As a lover of letters I loved this memoir. An important read in this time where there has been a huge back lash against trans rights.

This book “answered” a lot of questions and frustrations I have as a queer person. Coyote seems to find kinship with everyone, and getting to share that with them felt magical.

As previously shared, ivan coyote is my favorite living author and it is so nice to hear their voice again. With that said, unlike their other books, this did not leave me wanting to immediately start it again and I did not have a desire to hug my iPad. About half of the book is letters from others and there was a bit of redundancy in the responses, which is inevitable. Still, even a less favorite ivan book is enjoyable.
