The smut was good, the story was not. Ok, I am all for the romance-plus genre (romances with heavier themes woven in), but this was a swing and a miss for me. Hiding the next part because of some light spoilers, though it's all revealed early in the book.

These two characters are connected because Helen's little sister died by suicide after jumping in front of an unknowing Grant's car when they were all teenagers. Obviously, Helen has been carrying a bit of hate for Grant since then. When out of nowhere they are semi-forced to work together as adults 12 years later, what brings them together as a couple is...sexual chemistry. I'm sorry—WHAT. You CANNOT convince me that sexual chemistry is enough to overcome that type of history.

This book is tough to rate because I have major issues with the story, but I actually really liked Grant and Helen's relationship as long as I removed it from the overarching story. Also, the audio was...not great.
