Thoughtful romance with a unique premise and a Hollywood twist

How to End a Love Story stands out with a refreshingly original setup for how the main characters know each other—it’s not your typical meet-cute. The story explores emotional complexity with care, while the backdrop of Hollywood writers’ rooms adds a smart, behind-the-scenes feel that gives the romance added texture.

A thoughtful, character-driven read with a creative hook and just the right touch of glamour.

3.5 ⭐️ this was a solid story. I particularly liked the parts that focused on her complicated family relationships. I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had read it as a physical book because I didn’t love Grant’s narrator. He kinda sounded like a villain?

hopeful reflective

There’s heaviness in this romance novel, with a meet cute that’s more of a meet-in-heartbreak. And yet, the way the two main characters come together feels pretty honest. I was rooting for them both all the way through.

I wanted to like this book more than I did. People had said how wonderful and amazing it was, and parts of it were, but for the most part I was disappointed. I didn’t love the structure of switching between the povs of the characters and I was sad there wasn’t more character growth throughout the book. Even their relationship, it felt like a light switch being flipped on and off without any transitions. Overall I felt like this book lacked growth and depth, but at the same time in parts of it there was deep emotions

Loved the story and how the plot wasn’t contingent on characters withholding key conversations. The big conversations happened and the characters and stories grew as a result. Also appreciated the relatable first generation storyline.
