I liked this, and it was definitely emotional, but it just felt a little underdeveloped? Small things like we know Stevie's half Korean but we never actually find out which parent is Korean? There were just lots of bits like that which would have made the story feel more fleshed out and fully finished.

But I loved the relationship between Stevie and Nora, and the friendship with Ryan, it was very cute.

Sometimes very stereotypical American, but it’s sort of relevant to the story.

it was nice to have a sapphic version of a common romance trope. it was a fun, fast read. my only issue was with the ending.
while it’s nice to see stevie and her parents reconcile, it kind of came out of nowhere and did not make sense with how the parents had been portrayed
all in all, a solid read

This book is a gut-punch of a book. It has so much in it and Alyson Derrick really put her whole self in it. This story is about coming out, first love, and how love conquers all even in the face of those who don’t understand. The last bit of the book had me crying. I really felt like my heart was so full. This book is for the gays with religious trauma also and I had ALL the feels.
