The last couple volumes have been confusing to me and I’m not sure or sure I’m interested in where this is going. I do think this volume was better than the last one. I think what adds to my confusion is only now realizing that this is an ongoing series. I had it in my mind that it was going to end with volume 5. I’m not sure if I’ll read X+66. Sure, I’d love to get some conclusion for the story but I’d settle for some teasing out of everything that’s happening or some closure on certain arcs.

I’m not sure what to think of Jo. What does she want out of all this? Is she truly sympathetic or seeking justice for Forever or “the Waste”?

I’d like to learn more about the Lift and lives outside of the ruling and warring families.

What in the world are in Hock’s pills?

What happened to the nun, the virus?

I felt so bad for Eight.

I’m intrigued by the dynamic between the Lazari (I think it was at the conclave where they were hanging out).

I liked the panel where Forever and Michael have an interaction about him asking about her pain.

What’s up with the Carlyle kids’ mother?

Sixth volume starts with the bang as our heroine Forever finds herself devising the plots for extending the influence of Carlyle family in the never-ending conflict with Hocks and their allies. While entire book reads like a chess game between two supermen (ah, i got you here! no, I let you because I analyzed your look at the recent news about price of milk so I knew you would strike here, aha! etc etc - what price we pay for CSI/Sherlock like series, unbelievable) details do come out. And one is pretty striking and comes out in the middle of the Carlyle family - maybe old Carlyle is not the head of the family as we were lead to believe.

Art is as always good. Only issue I had is with identifying some of the characters (Marisol and Forever look like twins) but this might be something to do with the future story development (after all we are talking about clones and mental reprogramming (and outright override like it happened to Forever's once love interest)) so lets see what future issues will bring.

This issue feels like a preparation for a truly bloody events. All families have now taken sides, line is drawn and large scale conflict is started. As I said story gets more interesting by the issue.

Recommended to all fans of action adventure and dystopian SF.

I don't know when I read this in August, so let's just say it's in Sept.

This is probably one of my favorite indie series. The worldbuilding is just so complex. And it shows you facets throughout the story but you have to put together a lot of it yourself, too. The way things interconnect and interweave and sometimes take a while to pay out...

It's a post apocalyptic world out there, and we're finally getting close to finding out what happened, and more about Forever, and more. It's great.

Dark. As expected. Violent. As expected. Somewhat incoherent. As expected. Amazingly drawn combat sequences. I wish the story moved along a bit faster. I wish it was more obvious to know what was going on. Great art. Very terse writing. And now I have to wait again for the next book.

Not quite as strong as the previous volumes but still has potential to be fantastic.
Looking forward to the next volume.
