I liked the book until we got to the fight scenes. Those battles always seemed too easily won and none of the main characters were injured. It didn’t seem realistic. Injuries happen. Also, I imagine magic would take time to learn but it happened relatively fast. And they went to the Grey kingdom and the Poison kingdom to get weapons but all we hear about these weapons, at least for now, is the Dragonsbane which is a metal. I would have thought that once it was mined it would take time to make it into weapons but they traveled back to the isle within a few days and it was ready to be used? I’m a little confused. And sometimes it seemed like the characters knew things they couldn’t possibly have known because they weren’t there and the reader is never told that a conversation happens. It left me wondering why the character would know things and how he or she learned about it.
