bro can NOT catch a break✋

ugh, I just didn’t love this as much as the first! the writing was the main thing carrying me through (though maybe that’s a lie, cause I was, in fact, speeding to the finish to find out what the hell was going on in the House of Commons), but i adore these characters and if I’m honest I’d still read any future books in this series. was gonna say this is rounded up from a 3.5 but nah, it’s deserving of a full 4.

A lovely addition to the series. I adore these characters. It was such a joy to revisit them.

Just somehow gimmicky and not fully developed. Made me cringe at several points. Definitely one of Kingfisher‘s weaker books.
