3.5 stars. Definitely recommend to read it rather than audiobook listen. There are quite a few chapters at the beginning that are text or email exchange and it wasn't great to listen to. The narrator was enjoyable overall but those text/email exchanges were a lot for audio format.

maybe i’m in my cynical era, but i just felt like the relationship at the end wasn’t believable — but the buildup was absolutely delicious. i love bisexual men and i love it when they beg

2 ⭐️ . Wow, I Truly did not like this book, pun intended as Truly is our fmc's name and I Truly can go on and on and on about all the ways I disliked this book. This has one of the worst fmc ever, she's so immature, I honestly thought she was in high school with the way she acted and "flirted" which was pure cringe... don't even get me started on the parent-trap plot, you sure she's 27? I listened to the audio book and perhaps a large portion of why I hated this book so much was the horrible audio narrator and the voices she did for her best friend (any girl that wasn't Truly, the dad, and Colin - they were Truly awful, sorry I can't help myself). I hated how they constantly referred to one another as "fucking pretty" or "mole splattered" I think I counted at least 6 times they referenced one another this way... I don't know if I've ever called a man 'fucking pretty', it was weird. I hated how they brought in her bff, Colin's sister, drama with Colin's family... only to NEVER return to these characters or storylines again. The spice scenes went on far too long and I think the author should have used that time to develop a better story... sorry but I really didn't like this mess of a book, which is a bummer since the early buzz was so good and I think my expectations were a little too high. I wanted to love the queer representation and inclusion but honestly that felt disingenuous to me too. I wish I DNFed this book at 30% and listened to my gut. Enough ranting.. moving on.
