i really disliked one of us is lying and have disliked every book that's gotten compared to it including this one so i'm not sure why i keep reading them but here we are. besides bad writing (there was so many editing mistakes) the characters were all so bland and awful and not in the Good Unlikeable Characters way. the mystery had so much potential but was like an extremely, extremely watered down version of how to get away with murder/i know what you did last summer. it actually feels a bit insulting to even compare this to those. the only thing i liked was the ending, but even then it could have done so much more than what it did.

this was mostly enjoyable. I read it in about seven hours but i didn’t really care about any of the characters. The plot was interesting though

I might pick it back up but also, I’m just not very into it. As a massive Karen M McManus fan, I was excited because that’s who the cover compared this to. But.....I don’t know about that. From what I’ve read, it’s not the book for me.
