The author has found her place in Iceland, especially the rural areas where elves may live. Interesting connections between traditional stories (sagas), natural places, and scientific examinations. Makes me want even more to go to Iceland, sounds like a very spiritual place. The writing sometimes was too academic – folks I never heard of.

I loved this book. I just came back from Iceland a few weeks ago, and I think this author did an excellent job capturing how the beauty and magic of Iceland weaves seamlessly into the worlds of fantasy and fairytale while also covering facts, history, and personal narrative about this incredible country.
