Very disappointed in this. So misogynistic/patriarchal, all the characters are horrid and deceptive and treat Ophelia terribly. No world building so nothing makes sense. Overall I’m just confused, bored, and put off.

This was so whimsical and creative. The world building and writing style reminded me of Harry Potter, but with a darker twist. Dabos also builds unique characters who I immediately attach to! I see myself in Ophelia so much! And I love the tense dynamic between her and Thorn!

A slow set up that leads to a much more exciting sequel.
