A very short read, from a Tedx talk, filled with anecdotes and few daily things that are engrained in our culture but are extremely sexist. This text opens everyone's eyes about the true meaning and need for Feminism. Found a lot of parallels with the Indian society in general, and could relate a lot. Definitely, to be read and inculcated by every single person.

I liked this a lot. I found this perspective to be quite interesting. It wasn't anything crazily profound but it was nice to listen to and hear about the African feminist experience. Very well spoken and written as well.

This short was pretty straightforward.  Personally, I didn't get anything new from it but I did enjoy how she addressed arguments against feminists and thought she tied this in well. I think if i would have seen her speak on this, I would have been more engaged

Simple yet astounding. Just go and read it!

We should all read this book

Feminism 101, but mentions nothing of nonbinary or trans women and how feminism could look different for them. The text also felt a bit disjointed but I know it was originally a Ted talk so maybe it just didn’t translate well.
CNA is Nigerian and while there is definitely societal pressures and expectations placed on men/women to fit heteronormative roles, American culture has loosened up a bit (tho I do realize I’m reading this 10 years late). But it def touches on very real experiences and tells stories of expected gender roles that are still prevalent today in some form or another.
Didn’t realize this is where the beyonce quote was from so that was a fun surprise.
Not a fun surprise: the 1 star reviews saying cna is transphobic and jkr supporter sooooo. I guess I’ll be doing a little more research on the author

This essay does exactly what it was meant to do, and it does it well. This is to say it's a common sense explanation targeted at an audience presumed uncomfortable with or hostile to feminism. Though there is nothing mind blowing for people who already identify as feminist in this essay, it is still valuable to read a clear introductory argument done very well.
