This was so beautiful and simply argued. I love that she provided concrete examples of differences in treatment between her and her male counterparts, as well as the definition of and defense for a word - "feminist" - that people treat like an insult, when it should be a goal.

As an essay, this covers a decent amount of ground. I did read a book on gender by Bell Hooks recently, which was so in depth and thought provoking, so I fear my judgement is a bit clouded by that. But! This digestible essay is important for people who might not find this subject as important or interesting as I do. It’s a great toe dip in the water/introduction for anyone.

changing my five star rating to a one :) the speech this book is a transcription of was my first introduction to feminism as a teenager and finding out the writer is a terf was incredibly disappointing.

nothing crazy nothing mind blowing just some very simple facts that must be common sense by now yet here we are tryna teach people that sexism does exist if you pay attention to the world around you

Nada nuevo bajo el sol. Todos deberíamos ser feministas, apoyo la moción!
Qué capacidad de utilizar el vocabulario para expresar sus ideas. Excelente.

A must read. A quick and personal manual to help people understand why feminism is still relevant nowadays. The misconceptions around the topic and the distorted images of the world we live in are presented concisely. This small book can work as a guide to teach our children differently no matter the gender in order for them to live happier and easier lives free from the thousands of stereotypes that keep holding us back.

I finally got around to reading this-- in the gift shop of a museum while waiting for my parents to finish godknowswhat. If you've done feminist reading before, it doesn't do anything new, neither does it do the old in a particularly new way. But it does lay out the case that, so it would seem, needs to be repeated again, and again, and again. So here's to one more iteration.
