This book served as my formal introduction to Stoic Philosophy.

I needed a little kick in the pants, if you will, and this book did the trick. It’s an efficient Audible listen and perfect for anyone facing a challenge who needs a fresh perspective. I can see coming back to this years later and taking away completely different learnings.

This book will certainly get a reread!!!

I think this was meant for a certain demographic (American stock-trading, wall-street aspiring, middle-aged men), but despite that, it had some great points. The historical analogies did feel a little oversimplified, but I suspect that it was written like that to increase accessibility. I commend the author on producing a thoroughly comprehensible and effective book.

An easy to read take on stoicism and how to be prepared for obstacles and overcome them. It's a lovely read, but it can be quite repetitive at some parts.

Still, it's enjoyable to read with the several different examples and short chapters.

Nice overview of stoic thought. I remember liking The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy more, but this was still great. Great principles, stories, and writing.

Just the kick in the butt I needed.
