I got new perspectives about obstacles and failures here. It really helps me to overcome my fear and understanding how to handle the impediments I met.

But, it's not really a good book from Ryan Holiday, I got bored because of the repetitive advices. I prefer the Ego is The Enemy better when it comes to the writing side.

This is basically Robert Greene's 48 Laws of Power-lite. If I could do half stars it would get 2.5.

I enjoy Ryan Holiday's writing. I think he does a great job comparing past to current-day obstacles. It's a good read for those new to stoicism and working on mindset.

I was hesitant to review this one five stars because of how hokey self-help books can be, and how almost all of them ignore or (even worse) disregard mental afflictions.

This partially does the latter, but I can look past it.

This is a great collection of case studies, it's an easy read, chapters are short and seemingly every sentence is crafted as brief and as powerful as possible. After sitting on it for the past night I couldn't tell you any way in which this book could necessarily be better at what it's doing.

This book does an excellent job at distilling the ancient wisdom of Stoicism into digestible stories from incredible people of the past. Even if one chooses to look no further into the philosophy, the anecdotes provided are enough on their own to inspire.

Me parece imprescindible.
