The voice the narrator uses for the dummies is definitely unnerving. This was the one original Goosebumps book that I didn’t want to read because of Slappy. I assumed I wouldn’t like the story because of how gimmicky it felt for a ventriloquist dummy to come to life.

For pure nostalgic reasons I’m trying to build a full collection of goosebumps books. #7 This book is definitely the reason I am TERRIFIED of ventriloquist dummies, so much so I almost didn’t read this books from terror!
