The second outing for DS George Cross who is on the autistic spectrum and whose lack of social norms cause his colleagues constant frustration.  He also gets results thanks to the very same reason so when a body is found during a demolition,  Cross does what he does best and goes through details with a fine toothcomb.
Cross is undoubtedly a fascinating character while his colleagues - particularly McKenzie and their boss Carson - accept yet struggle to understand his technique. The story is fast paced and keeps the interest throughout and the later interviews between Cross and potential suspects are absolutely engrossing. The humour is largely due to Cross's lack of understanding of "normal" behaviour but it's done so well that it works and I'll be looking forward to the next in the series.

A much tighter followup to the series starter, less waffle and less need for character introductions. An enjoyable mystery and pleasingly cerebral, not sanguine. I'm looking forward to book 3

really compulsive

I have only just discovered this author and have already read two books in the series. Really enjoy the main characters interactions and how the plot twists and turns
