I liked this one. Especially the garden references… unique storyline. I did think it was funny when they referenced a floppy disc. Haha!
This is gonna be a short review.
I really enjoyed Nora Roberts easy writing style. Although it took me awhile to aclimate to the rapidly changing POV, I was able to enjoy the writing. This was like watching a movie, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I wish she focused more on the storyline than describing every single flower and plant the characters came across. I know it’s called Blue Dahlia but she left certain things to the very last 50 pages and I didn’t like that.
Overall I’d probably give one of her books another shot so long as it’s from the last 5-10 years because I forgot this book was written in 2004 until the word “female” popped up from time to time. Women, just say woman, goddamnit. And being in your early 30s is not old, why did the characters feel like they were old as hell when they weren’t??

Fängslande berättelse med 3 starka mammor, och ett mystiskt spöke som härjar i Harper hus. Utvecklade och rask romans, mycket snack om blommor och trädgårdar, härliga karaktärer med blandad personlighet. Händelserik!
If this wasn't my second or third time reading this I might not have given it a four, more of a high three, but I think some of that is remembering rather than anything being wrong with the book. Some of the scenes in this are chilling especially those toward the end, but much of the book is focused more on the people that any outside influences. I don't have a lot in common with the characters which makes them harder for me to relate to, but I do love the slow lyrical style of Roberts writing. Normally I like my stories fast paced where I'm sitting on the edge of my seat devouring pages as fast as my eyes can take in the words, but with Nora Roberts work there's a sort of beauty in the way she writes as she meanders off into things that don't exactly in my opinion move the plot forward, but they do make you feel closer to the characters as you experience even hum drum moments in their daily lives with them. Overall it's a good book that I would recommend.
Fluffy romance but I admit to enjoying the Harper Bride Story arc and the other two women more than Stella and Logan.
