The characters just didn't do it for me. In fact, some of them I really hated (and not just the serial killer).
And even though the FMC herself hates her real first name, it's used as almost a term of endearment by the MMC and it irked me...
It felt like the author threw in as many triggering subjects as possible, which may make for an exciting read for some people. I am not one of those people.
This wasn't the book for me, I finished it just to be sure. I can say I didn't enjoy the majority of it.

Please read the triggers prior to going into this . It’s not for the light hearted and can be very triggering .
I absolutely loved this one !! Cora and Dean were kidnapped and chained up down in the basement of Earl - a serial killer and rapist . What Cora and Dean went through , then try to heal after such disturbing / heartbreaking trauma . It depicted the realizations and lives of people who have went through similar experiences . Nothing was sugar coasted and I cried the last 20 percent of the book . It was so beautifully heartbreaking , raw and real . I absolutely loved it . Also love the way it ended to !

This one was very dark, tragic, horrific and sad. Lots of triggers and if you’re wanting a happy book, step away now. I mean I knew that going in, but just warning you now. I liked it but it was missing something for me. To be so deep in parts, there was an immaturity at times that I just couldn’t shake. Again it may just be me because another book recently that everyone has raves about felt like it was missing something for me too.
