I got that it's not too late for future daisies to grow but not in the past Oak's shadows, it's not too late to wipe out the shadows of the past or the present .. it's not too early to pile up shadows and darken our lifetime with them as well.

In general a pretty interesting short Novel, I see typical Dickens in the story lines the absolute personalities, even in Ebenezer Scrooge life-time he got different characteristics each of them in absolute form; that lonely poor child, that naïve young man, that neppish old business man even after he got his chance he became that angelic form of himself, it costs just a dream time ..
However, I'd like to adopt Scrooge's words here
"Don’t be cross, uncle," said the nephew.
- "What else can I be !! when I live in such a world of fools as this? Merry Christmas! Out upon merry Christmas!"

Not the most interesting, but not horrible either. Parts of it are dull, but there certainly are witty bits. The message is good, but it’s been twisted over time.

i liked the magical/spirit element of the book but i didn’t find the protagonist interesting at all. i will probably try another dickens book but this one wasn’t really for me and i wouldn’t recommend it.

Guess I never rated this until i did a twitter thread...
Might sound sacrilegious but the Jim Carrey adaptation isn't actually that far from the source material. And in some aspects, it's more entertaining.
Still, Dickens writes in a way that is rlly interesting to me unfortunately

Dickens is one of very few classic authors I like. I’d never read this before and it was better than I thought it would be. It’s a very good example of how your attitude determines your life. I can see myself reading this again at Christmas time.
