I liked it. (obviously. 4 stars :-D)
There were the old tropes - MC starting to investigate the crime she is suspected of, falling for the handsome detective, yada yada, but Diane manages to do it very nicely. I didn't get irritated by that.
It was a bit... questionable. But OK.

I read this a long time ago but wanted to do it again since I'm planning on listening to the whole series.

I didn't like this book. It wasn't a bad book but it didn't click for me. The characters annoyed me and I didn't like anyone in the book. There were too many 'issues' going on with all the characters.

I read this as a kid and really enjoyed it. Was I probably too young to read it in fifth grade? Yeah. Did I understand the plot and some of the horrible things that went on? You bet I did. Am I excited to continue on in the series now that I'm an "adult" women? Hell yeah! This is one of the only "cozy" mystery series that I can get through without rolling my eyes. I love the introduction to the characters and I think they all have real potential for growth. I can’t wait for more adventures, and of course more recipes.

Quick, fun read. I was definitely amused although I found the story fairly easy to predict. That being said I enjoyed the characters and the aspects of cooking. I would really love to try the recipes at some point too. I really liked the female main character and her personality. She was strong, smart and amusing.

I enjoy this series a lot - some of her touches do not hold up well though - like how she writes Marla. I forgot about that. But still, liked the book.

Cute start to the Goldy Bear series. Really liked Arch and Goldy's relationship in this one.
