A fairly fluffy read - got a bit bogged down in the middle but overall liked the pacing. Some of the dialogue and ‘messaging’ felt a bit too on-the-nose and thus cringy, and wouldn’t say I was shocked by any developments, but a chill enough vacation read. The books relationship with the FBI and police ended up being less, well, negative than I would have liked. Paired some critique of FBI and cops with a ‘trustworthy woman FBI agent’ and a murder solving Latino ‘good cop’ - so content warning for some copaganda in the end :/
