Love the cats, didn't love the mystery (or the depiction of women, weirdly).

I've been reading this series for about 20 years. I think I appreciate these books more and more as time goes by. there are so many different characters involved in each story. some of them we get to see progressing over time, like poor Hixie Rice - what an ignominious introduction! some of them just appear for this one story. LJB effortlessly makes them all unique and colorful, with their own speech patterns and stories. it's such a contrast to the way that so many "cozy" mystery writers barely sketch their background characters. the mystery itself is fairly dark. there are comic moments throughout the story, including a little typewriter prank where Qwilleran believes Koko has actually learned to spell. a very fun and satisfying read.

Still great cozy mysteries. This had alot of 1980s jargon that was mildly difficult to understand. I don't think I'll ever figure it out before the mystery is laid out by the author.

Another winner starring the unusal crime-solving trio of Qwilleran, Koko and Yum-Yum.

Four books in and I am still loving this series about Qwilleran and all the quirky people he meets. Koko and Yum Yum are hysterical.
