I loved the love. The friendship between Kirsten and Sloan even Josh and Sloan and the support they show. They are true friends.

You go into Abby Jimenez books thinking they will be light hearted romance but then they end up being incredibly heavy. But she jut kind of throws heavy trauma in and then bounces back to fluffy romance and it makes my head spin. Not to mention in this particular book the two characters are seriously co-dependent and I did not enjoy it. it really took me out of the book.

The first half was a 4.5, then the second half became a little too cliche for me. Add in some unexplored emotional resolutions and this ends up around a 3-3.5. Not bad, but not as good as this author's potential. I'll read her next book.

This was the emotional story of Sloane, a grieving widow, and Jason, a rising Hollywood music star. It dived into a lot of the issues with being a famous musician and the pressure that puts on the star's family, as well as the grief and rebuilding Sloane went through when she lost her husband. The playlist was 100% the best part of this one, I adored the songs the author chose. In all this was a lot sweeter than I expected, and I absolutely loved Jason as a character. However, it was a bit too dramatic for me - which kept me from connecting with the characters - and I am not a fan of the fall-in-love-in-a-week-and-know-we're-going-to-get-married-asap thing. But all in all this was a fun romance, even if maybe it's not something I'll remember.
