Um…
Excuse me?
How is it the last sentences suddenly change everything?!
It was a 3-3.5 up until that point

The Prison Healer is a griping tale of life in the Zalindov prison, where a girl named Kiva has spent the last 10 years. She is the healer/medic in the prison, and thus charged with intaking all prisoners, shaving them, marking them with the Zalindov Z and making them ready for life in prison. It is not a good life and Kiva has survived much longer than most. When the leader of the country's rebellion is captured and brought to Zalindov, Kiva volunteers to take her place and undergo the Trial by Ordeal, a ritual that has not been done for many years. No one has ever survived this ritual, but Kiva has to try. So she can get out of Zalindov. So she can finally see her family again. So she can live. And with a little help, she just might do it too.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, I was completely in Lynette's clutches from the minute I turned the first page.

This was fun! I loved the MC and how compassionate she was. I was a little lost in the first part simply because I had no idea how everything was going to link together, so I got confused at times. However, it picked up quickly and came together in the second half. And that plot twist?? LOVE

i was recommended this book and told it was so amazing and honestly it did not disappoint. i’m a sucker for fantasy with romance side plots, but mostly for fantasy. it took me a little to get into but i thought it was very interesting. plus i got plot twisted more than once, i can never turn down a good plot twist. would totally recommend and the ending really just makes you want to read the next one right away.
