Both a romantic comedy and a parody of a romantic comedy in one, but much deeper and heartfelt.

Now, I don’t wanna sound too harsh, but I have to be honest I do not understand hype. This was disappointing to me. It had so much potential but fell flat.I'm sure there are others that actually enjoy this one I guess. In the end, this book wasn't for me.

I have loved Sittenfeld’s writing for 15+ years (Prep was an all time favorite of mine) so I might be biased, but this is my favorite romcom book of the year so far. Funny, original, raw, and heartwarming. I devoured it and was laughing and crying right up until the very end.

*** Nominated for Most Forgettable Read of 2024 ***

What just happened? Did ANYTHING even happen?

These characters STINK. Sally does not deserve Noah. She's 38 and still has the mindset of a teenager!! I understand how insecure she's feeling, but Noah has shown her nothing but love and compassion, she has GOT to give it a rest. More importantly, how... how is Sally a comedy writer? She isn't funny during... ANY point of this book?

As soon as rl politics are brought up: cringe, triggered, get away from me!!! Same with covid in general, I don't want to be reminded, please and thanks.

This book makes me want to take a break from reading... oof.
