This biography is fantastic! Talks about different parts of real life while still keeping the love of dragons as a focus. A good lesson that someday I will finally write my dragon story :-)

Wonderful illustrations in this quick Overview of Tolkien's life. The ending could have used more impact but otherwise it is delightful. I could frame the Mirkwood picture.

What a sweet introduction to Tolkien for children. It is very well done, with details that (I am somewhat ashamed to say) I didn't know about Tolkien, probably because I have never read a full biography of him, and that is probably because as my favorite author, in some ways, I am afraid to know more detail because it might de-mystify him some, and also some because of a sense of anticipation of someday reading multiple biographies of him. I am savoring that future reading, but for now, this was an excellent way, and beautifully illustrated, to introduce Jackson to Tolkien. May it be the first of many, many readings to him.

Just a very cute book about J.R.R. Tolkien, both in writing and illustration. As a huge Tolkien fan, I think it’s just a very cute addition to my collection and am very happy it’s now in my life (what can I say? Everyone needs a good picture book now and again)
