The book had a promising beginning, but then I basically hated the whole middle of it, but I LOVED the ending.

It wasn't that nothing was happening in the middle, but I got bored anyway. No explanations, just was.

I think I just needed some more character development, because it was close to noexistent. But then I also liked that it was short. (There is no pleasing some people, namely me.)

Highly overrated, no doubt about it, but it was a mindless read, easy to get through in one sitting, quite cute, and I loved the ending!

I really did love this book, but I can’t rate it anything higher than three stars. If I would’ve read this book prior to seeing the movie, I think it could’ve been a four star for me. However, after seeing the movie as many times as I have throughout many different periods of my life, I can’t say the book is better.

I wish the book delved more into their early relationship. I loved the courting, the learning, the falling in love, and the fights with her parents. That portion is pretty non-existent in the book. This book could’ve easily been 100 pages longer with those added pieces.

It’s such a loving story and has so many moments where I had to stop and dry my face from tears. I just wish there was more.

“But if we never meet again and this is truly good-bye, I know we will see each other again in another life. We will find each other again, and maybe the stars will have changed, and we will not only love each other in that time, but for all the times we’ve had before.”

It was fine. I think the movie is leagues better.

It would have been interesting to learn more in depth about the summer Allie and Noah spent together as kids but I did appreciate the way we really got to know who the characters had become.
