I had such high hopes for this one but am so disappointed. Overly long with thoroughly unlikeable characters. I enjoyed the beginning with Ajay’s story but it went downhill from there.  Dark and depressing.

Oft-told tale elevated by vivid characters.
A story filled with ruthless ambition, violence, corruption, empire building, backstabbing and family drama -- the title kinda says it all! The prose is simple, direct, effective. The mood is decidedly depressing yet the events are compelling and the timeline and points-of-view well thought out and presented.

An enjoyable and entertaining read.

A family saga/crime thriller about a family in India, the Wadia family.  It is told from several different characters points of view.

I enjoyed the first perspective the most- from the character of Ajay who is one of the family's servants.  He really had the most compelling storyline for me.  After Ajay's story, I didn't enjoy the others quite as much, but overall I found the book to be exciting.

HOLY HECK I loved this. What a ride! I mean, geez the way the climax got built up is just next level. Lives up to the hype for sure. An Indian Don Winslow. Can't wait for the sequel.
