I’ve always loved R.L Stein’s books. More specifically Goosebumps. The Fear Street books maybe considered a little cheesy, I didn’t want to put this book down. It left me wondering if the “killer” was really the killer. After awhile I suspected it was someone else, but the thrill and anticipation left me wanting more.

Not my favorite Fear Street book...but this was passable. Honestly better than some of the adult thrillers I've been listening to lately mostly because its significantly shorter and doesn't have time to get boring. Not something I will read again and don't think I will remember much about it in a week...but I'd recommend for younger readers looking for a thriller.

A fun mystery. I loved the ending and I didn't see that coming!

I needed a quick, "light" and gripping read to get out of a reading slump, and this one did its job pretty well. The Fear Street series has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, and I am glad I still find them entertaining in my mid-20s. I do have a few obvious gripes as an adult - Janie is pretty stupid tbh - but overall it was a fun read.

I struggled to get attached to any of the characters. I thought they were all kinda rude. I called the “twist” early on into reading it as well. Not my favorite from the fear street books.

Fear Street # 31

What would you do for $1,241.65?

If it's 1994 and you go to Shadyside High, the answer may well be...MURDER!

Janie and her friends Eve and Faith are responsible for turning in the money from the latest school dance over to new principal Mr. Hernandez (Mr. Sewall presumably was ousted because of all the dead students). The problem is that the new boy, Ross Gabriel is a total dream boat and, oh yeah, the money was stolen! It had to have been one of the girls or their boyfriends, but which one? Janie is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery almost as much as she is determined to have a hot, dry lipped encounter with Ross. The pity is that the other girls who go out with him end up dead.

This one was pretty solid. It was nice to see Shadyside High getting back to business as usual after an extended detour into holiday/historical background land. The title is a nice nod to the first book in the series. This is the 20th standard Fear Street book, but the 31st book published when taking in the whole franchise.

Fear Street in Publication Order
