This story is about a girl named Echo. Pre-story Zoe has been murdered. She explains her grieving and her family's. One day she finds Zoe's diary and discovers a whole new sister she never knew. Half the story is told in Zoe's diary.

I absolutely love this book. I just re-read it and it was as spectacular as the first time! I recommend it to anyone.

I loved it and moments I hated it, but I couldn't put it down. Everything Zoe went through and Echo it broke my heart.

Really did like this book! Really related to Echo and was able to connect to her throughout the story.

Meh. This book was ok. I don’t really get the point of it honestly. I thought maybe some of Zoe’s life struggles had to do with her death but no. Her diary entries were pretty much useless. Idk maybe I missed something.

My two main issues with this book are:

1) It was boring. Up until the last two chapters, literally nothing happens. It is dull to the absolute extreme.

2) I kept forgetting that Echo is supposed to be fifteen. The character voice (when there is any to speak of) sounds like a twelve year old. And not even a mature twelve year old. A "do you like me? or do you LIKE like me?" twelve year old.

Smoosh those things together and you have a book that, had it not been so short, I never would have finished. This is my second attempt at a Alyson Noel book aaaaaaaand I think we can all agree it should be my last.

Finished this book in a few days. Couldn’t put it down. Great YA book. The back and forth between Zoe and echos stories were really well down and well intertwined. However it didn’t get into too much detail about Zoe’s death but the story leading up to it. I really loved the Marc character in this story and he was good to both girls!

Overall it was a good book i guess. But I just cannot stand Alyson Noel's writing. I dont really know what it is but i just do. i also thought that it was strange to have echo and marc together because it just seems weird especially considering that he was still dating zoe when she died and also their age difference. Everything that echo did was kind of out there and as a girl that is the age she was in the book, i have to say that not many 15 year old girls would do this stuff

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

Great book! The characters are well developed and the plot is as well. I cried a little. This is one of the rare books that I could not put down and read for 6 hours straight.
