H is for Honeybee: A Beekeeping Alphabet by Robbyn Smith van Frankenhuyzen is a clever, fact-filled book about honeybees. Every page contains a short, rhyming passage that flows through the story (N is for Nectar: Nectar is collected/and brought back to the hive/Once processed into honey,/ it’s what helps bees thrive). Every page also contains a lengthier sidebar of factual information, which can be omitted for story time purposes. The drawing are real-to-life and colorful; the incorporation of the alphabet into the main story is a major plus.
