4.3 Stars. I really liked how the author wrote the characters. Didn’t expect that ending! The pacing I’d say was also quite good! Overall, really liked it and it’s highly likely I will read the next book.

Loved this book, it was an absolute romp of a read. If I have any criticisms it's that I think the end wrapped up a little too quickly/conveniently in the last chapter, but really it seems like it was just "admin" that was skipped over. The romance was also a little tame (just kissing), although I realise that this couple evolve over a three book arch and so understand that some stuff has to be kept for later in the series, but otherwise really sizzled.

Highly recommended

This was my first book by Ilona Andrews and she blew my mind. Nevada just full of spunk. Mad Rogan I can't help but fall in love with him. Alpha male. Dark and broody. Full of action, vivid descriptions. I got lost in her world. Full bodied characters. The magical theory was easy to follow and understanding. You didn't get lost in all the explaining. I am so purchasing the second book.

Great book. Not so great narrator. She was fine but sounded too old.
