Started out good but suffered from a lack of good editing.

Eureka Truevine has moved back home to the small town of Cherry Hill, Mississippi after the divorcing her husband to care for her mother and father. In Cherry Hill, Eureka can be herself. Everyone there calls her Trinket. Cherry Hill isn’t that far from Holly Springs.

Every April the town of Holly Springs hosts a tour of restored, historical houses. Trinket’s good friend, Bitty Hollandale is the biggest promoter of these tours. She just loves a really good historical home. This is why she plans to do everything she can to get Sherman Sanders to participate in the home tour.

Bitty heads to Mr. Sanders place to try and bride him with some homemade chicken and dumplings. When she gets there, Mr. Sanders is gone and lying on the floor in a pool of blood is her ex-husband. Bitty runs away but instead of going to the police like she should she enlists the help of the Dixie Divas. The Dixie Divas are a group of southern belles, who love to party and eat chocolate. No men are invited unless they are providing the entertainment. The women range from age forty to mid sixties. You can bet though that where the Dixie Divas are involved that mischief and mayhem will follow in their wake.

Dixie Divas is a great start to a brand new series by author Virginia Brown. All of the divas are so much fun. They are the crazy grandmas who love to have fun and who you wished was your grandma. Dixie Divas is southern comedy at its best! So if you have a few extra hours to spare in your schedule, make sure you put it to good use by checking out a copy of this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this wonderful series.

At times I was rolling my eyes, but I just went with and found it a fun read overall. Kind of silly and fun. I would read more if there was another book.

This was a free download on Kindle, and you get what you pay for. The plot was pretty formulaic (murder mystery), with the surprise twist at the end. Unlike better writers, the author laid down no clues so the big reveal was definitely a what the hell moment. The characters were all pretty flat and stereotyped, as well.

The writing and editing was shoddy. There were a lot of timeline and continuity problems that should have been picked up by a decent editor.

When Bitty's ex-husband is murdered rather than calling the police she enlists the help of her friend Trinket to hide the body while they come up with a plan for the aforementioned deceased to be found somewhere other than Bitty's closet.
But the body appears to be a boomerang and every time they take it somewhere it ends up back in Bitty's house. The police find the body and Bitty is looking well and truly guilty. Trinket and Bitty need to find the real killer and save the day.

This book is mindless cute fluff. If Bitty and Trinket (and the other characters) weren't so likeable I'd probably rate the book 1.5 stars, but their banter is just so much fun and it really saves the book.

This book is a little to contrived. It feels like the author came up with a premise and shoehorned a mystery into it. There are errors that should have been caught by an editor, such as one character who is two different ages.

Really contrived. And I gave up on it.

Trinket and Bitty (yes, the names really are that awful!) are caught up in a murder mystery involving a pot of chicken and dumplings, a statue of General Grant, a dog, a mule, and a bunch of women calling themselves the Dixie Divas.

It was a free download for my kindle, what can I say? Characters and plot are silly but fun. A quick read but nothing outstanding.

This book was ok. Nothing in it really grabbed me, and it took a couple of days to read it...it was too easy to put down and do something else. I had no burning need to know what happened next. Kind of funny, kind of predictable. Not a series I'm going to get into reading.
