"Grief is just love looking for a place to settle."
This was a little slow-paced for me and I got annoyed at how many times Clover "ran away" from confronting the slightest discomfort, but I liked all of Clover's friends at least.

Beautiful book. Love Clover. Loved this story and perspective. Special book
"But the secret to a beautiful death is to live a beautiful life. Putting your heart out there. Letting it get broken. Taking chances. Making mistakes."
What an exquisite, poignant and thought-provoking story with such beautiful message. It’s rare that a book makes me sit back and reflect on the content.
“The reason so many people die with regrets is because they live like they’re invincible. They don’t really think about their death until right before it happens.”
Truthfully, most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about our deaths until we are imminently facing it. This was a delightful read on our agency in life and death while discussing sensitive topics like death itself, aging, and loneliness. The theming was absolutely beautiful; the only reasons this isn't a full blown 5 star are the somewhat weak characterisation of the protagonist Clover as well as the weak plot. The musing and philosophical bits and bobs on the other hand resonated very well with me. 10/10 can recommend.
“But perhaps that's the point. Do we actually need to understand the world and all its patterns?
You can find meaning in anything if you look hard enough; if you want to believe that everything happens for a reason. But if we completely understood one another, if every event made sense, none of us would ever learn or grow. Our days might be pleasant, but prosaic.
So maybe we just need to appreciate that many aspects of life—and the people we love—will always be a mystery. Because without mystery, there is no magic.
And instead of constantly asking ourselves the question of why we're here, maybe we should be savoring a simpler truth:
We are here.”

This was such beautiful and poignant book. The writing was wonderful and expressive and captured the feeling of loneliness and aloneness so distinctly. It was hard to put down. Loved it.
