Quick read, just like the others. Drugs, weasels and fashion.

Love this series so much!

Trigger warning for child sa and neglect and repressed memories (as Eve regains her memories from her childhood).

What I like best about this series, is the constant surprise I feel, whenever a new character is introduced.

book: "Officer somename"
me: expecting a male officer, as with a female lead, every other character has to be male by default
book: "she"
me: 😳 ooooh, nice

I just never see it coming.

The relationship between Roarke and Eve seemed a bit muted in this episode, and while I hope for a bit more next time, I also don't want to lose time for the case in the next book.

I liked the way this case was solved slow and methodically, this is how detective work should be. Good thing this is the third instalment of about 50, I'd most definitely like some more.

This case was different because for once Eve lost a bit of her indifference and got caught during the investigation. Mavis is a great friend of her for years and to see that, made Eve start thinking about what it’s right and wrong. Plus this is also the marriage and Eve is a little lost about the wedding and the party.

I liked this story. It was strange and disturbing seeing Eve caught in the web of the assassin, even trying to find the killer while the public and the PA already assumed Mavis was guilty. I believe this was one of the hardest time for her because she spent so long hunting for an answer and things were so difficult.

I never would have imagined the end, but for one thing this book made it worth it. Peabody showed a different side during the bachelorette party and even doctor Mira became more real.

This one wasn't quite as good as the first two in the series, but it was still interesting enough to hold my attention. We get to find out just what exactly happened to Dallas when she was a child, and what she did in response to it. She grows closer to Peabody in this book, too, and really gets an idea of who her true friends are. This book was a little bit slower paced, which made it harder to get through, but overall it was still worth the time.

Even though I knew who the bad guy was early on, this is my favorite In Death so far. Great character development for Eve Dallas.
