I hate to have to do this because I LOVED Dial A for Aunties but this book was just….not good.
1. The author continuously references events from the first book like we didn’t read that one. It’s like, we know you killed Ah Guan, you don’t need to constantly remind us and reference it.

the story was very over the top and i loved it!!! it was a really fun read.
i loved the aunties - they're so crazy and caring. i still love the way they care more about being respectful and not cursing the family than committing crimes. that never got old!
the new characters were really fun as well - especially when they meet meddy's fam!
the second half of the book was a bit underwhelming. it was a lot of meddy putting down her family and hiding what was happening from nathan on their wedding day. it got old real fast! she does finally accept her family in the end and tell nathan the truth, which was really nice, but it took too long.
it's not as good as the first one (nothing comes close to the ICONIC eggplant conversation!) but it's still a really fun and lighthearted read!!!

fast-paced
Was I frustrated by the Aunties? Yes. Was I frustrated by Meddy’s inability to just tell her husband what was going on? Yes. Did I enjoy reading this book more than the first? Also yes.
This was a lot more cohesive and engaging to read. The first novel just had too many things going on as an attempt to keep the reader interested. This was paced a lot better and I honestly couldn’t stop reading it once I picked it up.

Not quite as funny as the first one and the plot felt a little less fleshed out. Still an enjoyable read! There’s misunderstandings, crazy antics, and a lot of familial love at the heart of the story.
I do wish the in-laws would’ve been more accepting of the aunties at the end. I didn’t think they got much of a character arc. Similar to my thoughts on Meddy-Nathan in Dial A for Aunties, I still don’t think their relationship was explored as much as it should’ve been. Their connection felt weak to me. Ultimately, though, we’re reading this for the aunties and the *MAFIA* RUINING MEDDY’S WEDDING! How will they stop them?! Who really cares about Nathan!?

I enjoyed the first book, but found this one to be a bit much. The aunties were too much and the situation just got a little too farfetched for my taste. I realize everything in the first book was also farfetched, but this just seemed to be a rehash of the same old antics. I finished the book, but that I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could read something better.

Bloody hell this was a struggle.
It felt like it was attempting to out-do its prequel and tried way too hard.
I couldn't enjoy it... it was so completely over-the-top it was distracting and frustrating and repetitive and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I don’t know why but this book was pretty boring and not that funny compared to the first one.
honestly it was kinda dumb and not great and i hate the narrators voice like the main character is so annoying get over ya self.
This book was a lot like the first one, full of chaos and mayhem. Something about this one clicked a little less for me, though, and I'm not sure what it was. The plot just didn't feel as tight as the first book. And while I have to suspend my disbelief while reading these books, it still felt a little hard to believe Meddy could go through all of this at her own wedding without anyone catching on.
I appreciated the message of the book, but I'm not sure if I'll pick up any sequels if they come up. While I enjoyed these book for the wacky chaos that they were, I feel like it doesn't make a great foundation to build on more.

dial a for aunties was a hilarious and clear five-star read for me. so i was extra excited when the sequel was announced. but this one? my goodness. what a chaotic and far-fetched plot. this follow-up unfortunately just lacked the charm and magic of dial a.
