I picked up this book with some reservations. I wasn't a huge fan of the first book due to the miscommunication trope and the slapsticks but this was gifted to me by an Ind0-Aussie friend so I thought I'd give this one another chance. I do love the pairing but not the execution of this series of novels. The miscommunication trope isn't so bad in this one but slapsticks still played a big part and I struggled through those pages. The humour I found mostly in the understanding the protagonist's point of view having grown up in Indonesia myself but now am more Aussie than Indo.

If you loved the first book, you would love this one. If you are like me, however, no matter how good the author's intentions (author's note at the beginning of the book) are, the content is <i>not</b> for me. You really have to suspend disbelief (and there is a particular part of the novel which I just couldn't get over) though I did like the ending when the protagonist outlined why she loved her crazy family and it was all wrapped up quite neatly though again, suspend disbelief.

I love this family so much. I'm so excited that there will be a third one! The author set the ending up perfectly for the next book. I was laughing SO much at all of this ridiculousness. I can't wait to see what's next!

Oh, how I love this family. This book was hilarious, absolute chaos (arguably more so than book 1) and a whole lot of fun.

Continuing from Book 1, we find ourselves with Meddy & Nathan as they plan their big wedding. The aunties have found a family run wedding vendor that they’d love Meddy to use for her wedding. To her surprise, Meddy ends up loving this vendor as well until she ends up finding out they’re not wedding vendors at all but a mafia family with an intention to pull a hit at Meddy’s wedding. It’s now up to Meddy and her aunties to stop them.

Chaos, chaos & more chaos. I was laughing all the way through. Just when you thought it couldn’t get more chaotic, it does.
I loved how the vulnerability of Meddy’s confessions of embarrassment for her family’s behaviour has its full circle moment and she embraces and protects her family and how they have shaped who she is.

I loved dial A for Aunties, so was excited to read this one s as well. But, I ended up skimming over several of the wedding chapters. It was pretty predictable and just seemed to go on and on and on with the reception hi-jinks. An overall “eh” of a read

Yikes. The first book was quirky, but hilarious!! This one just didn’t land right for me.
