"Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie"
Okay , When you pick up Agatha Christie's book, you start with a certain expectations.
Expecting Whirlpools in your mind, expecting your suspicious mind to waver from one suspect to another. And I bet, when you read this one, all those expectations will be fulfilled.
A murder happens in Office, which is linked to home, and series of murder follows, limiting to few , unlike the number of those happened in "And Then There Were None". The Investigating Officer is trying to find everything and finds everyone has some motive and finally concludes of murders happening without Rhyme or Reasons.
And then Enters the old Miss Marple and proves him Wrong.
Now instead of trying to find more of what happened in the book from this Review, I would suggest rather picking up and reading the Book.

First, how he was so conveniently away and then conveniently present in the thick of things. Second, how everything seemed to point to Percival - as if the case was screaming "It's him!" and too conveniently, and it was clear someone hated him enough to make him a suspect. Third, emphasizing the second point, how Lance, in his seemingly cool manner, hated Percival. Fourth, how after his outburst, Lance mentions Blackbird mine - too casually, as though hinting - and it becoming too obvious that there /was/ gold there.
