So this was my second Agatha Christie book and I really did enjoy it. It was a quick and enjoyable mystery where I once again wasn't 100% sure on who committed the murder. As this book (at least my edition) was only 188 pages, it was obviously a lot faster paced from the beginning compared to the Death on the Nile and that is something I really appreciated with this book as we were thrown directly into the mystery.

i very much enjoyed this book. it was a buddy read so it was very fun to figure out the mystery with other people and watch everyone’s progression of thoughts throughout the story. anyway i love how this channeled my inner sherlock, i definitely didn’t feel like this was an easily figured out mystery. very enjoyable, i love how the answer to this mystery wasn’t obvious. would recommend to mystery lovers!

Another really great Agatha Christie; this one completely fooled me, it’s actually funny how well it fooled me.

The book even says that women are fooled by the charms of the man who turned out to be the murderer, and I completely was lol - he was my favourite character until I found out 🫠.

By the end I was hooked and couldn’t stop reading. There are fewer characters to like in this one though

(one of the only ones I DID like turned out to be the villain)

, and there were none of the English village episodes that I often enjoy in Miss Marple. This was maybe faster paced than some of the other Marple books though, with a really intricate murder in the end!
