Holy TWIST! I was absolutely not expecting the big twist in this book. A good, well-wrtitten suspense/mystery, and short. I read the book in the span of 24 hours.

I wasn't a great lover of any of the characters - I didn't find them very likeable. I also felt there was a lot of build up, we got to the climax of the story and it all ended really quickly. But the twist was worth it

I didn’t see the plot twist coming. And what happens before it wasn’t sooo slow I would’ve been more interested in it. I also realized that I do not care about stories where the main character is unlikeable and annoying. Side characters can have this trait but the main character…not for me. Also, there’s hardly a covid plot — it’s more of a setting.

A pretty decent little short, fast paced psychological thriller from J.P. Pomare. I didn't see the twist coming, and that's always a plus for me in these kinds of stories, so I'll say this is a solid 4 star novella for me.

This was short but packed a punch, delivering a couple of twists that I didn’t expect.  Leaning into the paranoia and stress that COVID & successive lockdowns delivered, we spend most of our time with Lou in her apartment.  I thought this really added to the tension of finding out what was going on & what had happened to Samuel.  Everyone is hiding something in this story & I was quickly hooked - I had to know everything!  This was another captivating read by J. P. Pomare & I’m looking forward to his next book.

I am not a fan of the story not being tied up. I feel like there were some things we didn’t get to see finished and I hate having to guess what happens.

Absolutely devoured this! Another excellent J.P Pomare thriller which I could not put down. I didn’t see the twist coming at all which I loved, and I also loved the nods to all of his other novels and characters throughout as well. Nice Easter eggs for fans of his other novels.

Looking forward to another thriller from the master in 2024!
