Creative survival scenario. Very character driven which i enjoy most about King's books and you will feel sad about these boys. Takes the strange concept and explores it thoroughly; reading it while exhausted at work really made it come to life. Depiciton of minorities is very dodgy, though you can see the author is not hateful, just stereotypical.

This book should have been boring (just because it is about walking and nothing else or so I thought!!) but it was good and had me sitting on the edge of my chair every time I picked it up! It was just so good! It was not just about the walking because the boys had so interesting conversations with each other and Garraty's thoughts was also so interesting all book long.

Always kind of love the Bachman books. First time reading this one and was surprised by how much I enjoyed something with such a simple concept and plot.

This book took me so long to read, but after finishing, I really do feel very motivated to start reading more consistently. The relationship between all of the characters was the most interesting part. The ending was very ambiguous and sad, but still a very good read.
