I tried reading this book more times than I can count over the past few years. I never make it past the first 50ish pages. I think it's time to put it in the DNF pile.

(I read a simplified edition, so I won't comment on grammar/vocabulary.)

This was great. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, mainly with regards to the protagonist and the atmosphere: in some chapters I felt like I was reading a pantomime, in others a horror story.
I really enjoyed it and if I can find a non-simplified edition I'd love to read it again.
