She always does a fantastic job with all of her historical fiction books but this one hit really hard because quite honestly, I have mixed feelings about immigration. But there are just some cases that we have got to step in and help people in these other countries suffering this book shows exactly that we should have done so much more to help these people in Romania when this was all happening I wasn’t even born yet, but still the US should’ve helped them moreand I know this is fiction but I’m sure families had the same issues same dealings with in the family trauma that’s in this book was just so good and so well written 10 out of 10 highly recommend I will read anything this author writes
