Almost DNFed this book so many times. The story was slow and there was barely any character development and almost no speaking parts to really connect the character to the reader. To make matters worse, each chapter TOLD YOU WHAT HAPPENED IN THE CHAPTER. It made me was to hit my head against a wall because why bother telling us what happens and spoil the reason why people want to find out what happened?

I just want to learn more about this mythical King Arthur but these children's books are failing me. I'm going to try the movie next to gain greater context.

I’m only loosely familiar with the King Arthur stories, but if this made-for-kids book is any indication of their quality, they’re terrible, with some stories outrageously predictable and others extremely random. The morals they are presumably meant to impart are suspect as well.

Read as part of Medieval study with my 6 and 5year old. They loved the stories of King Arthur. Very easy read. Hopefully my 6 year old can read this on his own.
