The series continues to be good! While the general premise remains the same, the plot is thickening, and the writing continues to be clever. At times, my son and I have to pause and giggle about some dry humor or completely ridiculous statement nonchalantly thrown in. Jerome and Esme were not the worst guardians, albeit mostly absent, and that helps our ability to keep going as we focus on the Baudelaires and the intricate mystery they’re trying to solve! The lessons that come with each guardian also seem to be getting better and have lended themselves well to good discussions about various character traits and qualities of a good person. On we go!
I loved this one! The stakes are higher for the Baudelaire orphans, much more than they have ever been in the previous novels.
I enjoyed this one a bit better than the previous ones; I must be settling in to the style of the books now.
3.25 again
This series is definitely getting better as it goes along but I wanna feel excited about reading the next book and finding out what happens and I don't feel this way and that makes me sad.

The Baudelaire orphans go to live with their new guardians, Esme and Jerome Squalor and still run from Count Olaf.
I have now read 6 from this series and do feel they are very repetitive. I do find them a good easy read but also guess the ending of every book. 📕

Not bad. Not my favorite of the series, but still fun and engaging. I love the ridiculousness of Sunny, and how complicated the schemes are becoming.
